One Loudoun Welcomes The Fitness Equation

Brand new 40,515 square-foot fitness center set to open January 2016

Ashburn, Virginia, January 7, 2015One Loudoun is proud to welcome The Fitness Equation, a new 40,514 square-foot fitness center and full-service day spa, set to open January 2016. 

The Ashburn location is the first in the Washington D.C. market, and will occupy two floors of retail space at the corner of Russell Branch Parkway and Exchange Street in One Loudoun. 

“The Fitness Equation is another great example of how One Loudoun is continuing to bring unique and first-of-its-kind facilities and services to Loudoun County,” said Bill May, Vice President of Miller & Smith and Managing Director of One Loudoun. “We look forward to offering a space to focus on health and exercise as we deliver on our promise to provide a community that incorporates the live-work-play elements in one location.”

The newest One Loudoun addition offers exercise space designed to help members achieve their fitness goals and improve their overall quality of life. Facilities will include space for the following: strength conditioning, cardio vascular conditioning, indoor basketball, rock climbing, aerobics, yoga, spinning, group and personal training, speed and performance training, a kid’s gym with gymnastics and movement development, a computer learning space, and luxurious dressing rooms complete with dry saunas. Furthermore, members can also take advantage of a full-service day spa. 

Founding partners Chuck Wilson and Ahmad Kangarloo, opened the first in a series of clubs in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1990 and subsequently designed and opened two additional clubs in Reston and Dale City, Virginia. The Fitness Equation was sold to Sport and Health in 1998, resulting in a 15-year non-compete in the Washington D.C. market. With the opening of the One Loudoun location, The Fitness Equation returns to the fitness market with continued commitment to the health of its members and quality service with a full staff of dedicated employees and trainers.

One Loudoun Announces Farmers’ Market

Ashburn, VirginiaOne Loudoun Holdings, LLC and the Loudoun Valley HomeGrown Markets Cooperative (LVHMC) are proud to announce the grand opening of the One Loudoun Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 8am-12pm in the parking lot of The Club at One Loudoun, located at 44605 Russell Branch Parkway.

Currently known as the Ashburn Farmers’ Market, the weekly event will be renamed and relocated from the corner of Ashburn Village Boulevard and Farmwell Road, to One Loudoun this fall. The market will continue to operate at its current location through the end of August.

“We have enjoyed our current location for many years,” said Warren Howell, President of the LVHMC Board of Directors. “Now it’s time to reach out to more folks in Ashburn and we look forward to offering a more diverse range of fresh products to both our current and new customers at One Loudoun.”

The market consists of more than a dozen vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, artisan baked goods, honey, baby food, jellies, sauces and much more. Gluten free options for some products are also available. LVHMC markets are “producers only,” meaning the vendor must be the grower or producer of all the products they sell. All vendors also must operate within a 125-mile radius of Leesburg, Virginia.

“One Loudoun is excited to bring the LVHMC and their market to our community,” said Bill May, Managing Director of One Loudoun. “We look forward to the local food offerings and know the market will be a great place for neighbors to gather.”

The One Loudoun Farmers’ Market will operate every Saturday from 8am-12pm in September and October for 2014, with plans to reopen the market in May 2015 for a full summer at One Loudoun.

One Loudoun To Host Loudoun YouthFest 2014

Ashburn, Virginia – One Loudoun Holdings, LLC, a joint venture of Miller and Smith and NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH), announced today that One Loudoun will host Loudoun YouthFest on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in their neighborhood amphitheater. Loudoun Youth Inc. and Loudoun County Parks, Recreation, and Community Services produce the event.   

Now in its ninth year, Loudoun YouthFest draws thousands of attendees for a day of teen-centered concerts.  Local youth band winners of the countywide Battle of the Bands series serve as opening acts, followed by a major headliner taking the stage at the end of the night.  

“We are thrilled to host Loudoun YouthFest at One Loudoun, after being a sponsor for many years,” said Bill May, Vice President of Miller and Smith. “Not only will it be a great use for our new amphitheater, but it allows us to support the youth of Loudoun County, which has been one of our goals since the creation of One Loudoun.”

The move to One Loudoun, located at the corner of Route 7 and Loudoun County Parkway, comes after Loudoun YouthFest was previously held in southern Ashburn. 

Carol Kost, Founder of Loudoun Youth, Inc. said, “Loudoun YouthFest continues to grow and expand thanks to our past success.  One Loudoun is a great location for this Loudoun County tradition.  There will be more exciting details to come soon.”  Details on bands, including the headliner, and ticket sales will be coming in the next few months, according to Kost.

Loudoun Hounds' New Ballpark to be Built at One Loudoun

McLean, Virginia, October 1, 2012 – One Loudoun Holdings, LLC, a joint venture of Miller & Smith and NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH) announces today plans to make One Loudoun the new home for the Loudoun Hounds, a professional baseball club located in Ashburn, Virginia.

“We are thrilled to have reached an agreement with the Loudoun Hounds. One Loudoun is the ideal location for this sports and entertainment venue and we are proud to be working with Bob Farren to make his vision for a new ballpark in Loudoun County a reality,” said Bill May, Vice President of Miller and Smith.

Bob Farren, President of VIP Sports & Entertainment, the Hounds’ parent company, remarked, “This is an exciting time for HoundsNation and the entire community. It is something we have been working on for over a decade and the first pitch is clearly in sight. When complete, the new Ballpark will be the premier sports and entertainment destination in Loudoun County and across Northern Virginia.”

The Ballpark will be designed as the centerpiece of One Loudoun and will host at least 72 baseball games per year as well as community events, concerts, festivals and additional sporting events. The Ballpark is being financed entirely by private funding, with no money coming from the County. The opening is scheduled for 2014.
